2023 Year in Review

As 2023 comes to a close we are reflecting on our work over the past year. We engaged over 40 youth in our core programs - Freedom Fellowship and Northstar Liberatory Training Collective. Twenty recent alumni received intensive training in facilitation and curriculum development - paving the way for them to collaborate with staff on program design, trainings, and program leadership. Over 300 educators, youth workers and cultural workers participated in our workshops on healing-centered youth development.

Check out our Year in Review to read more about all of our work in 2023.

We are excited about what next year will bring. Led by a 2019 Freedom Fellow alum, we are deepening our youth organizing work. We will also partner with two CPS high schools to implement a school-based after school program that will weave together movement history, healing-centered practices, community organizing skills, and literacy. We will also honor the 60th anniversary of Mississippi Freedom Summer in 1964 with special events.

We look forward to moving together with our community in solidarity for healing and liberation. Wishing you a restful end of the year!
